Japanese car makers, Toyota are celebrating 20 years of making their cars in Derbyshire.

The first car to drive of the production line was the Carina E. It left the plant in 1992.

Since then, other models to be made there include the Avensis, Corrolla and Auris.

Last year production was hit significantly after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan in March.

Production lines had to shut for two days a week in the months following the disaster because of a shortage of parts.

Business is now back to normal and the factory currently employs around 4000 people.

Today there will be a series of events to mark the 20 year milestone, with business leaders and workers celebrating two decades of car production in Burnaston.
