18,000 sign petition against controversial plans to move Scunthorpe Market outside

An 18,000 strong petition against controversial plans to move Scunthorpe Market outside has been handed to North Lincolnshire Council.

Traders say moving their stalls to the High Street would be impractical and damaging to their businesses.

However, councillors say it would give them a higher profile and allow them to renovate the current indoor market as part of a £60million pound redevelopment of the town centre.
