Body found in 'unexplained' incident in Barnsley

Police are treating the death of a man whose body was found in Barnsley as 'unexplained'.

Emergency services were called to Greenfield Road in Hoyland just after 5.05am today.

The man, who is in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Greenfield Road is expected to remain closed for some time, as officers carry out enquiries in the area.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At this time, the man’s death is being treated as unexplained and officers remain in the area as they ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding his death."
