A consecration ceremony will take place for the new Bishop of Sheffield today.

The Very Revd Dr Pete Wilcox, who was the Dean of Liverpool Cathedral for five years, will take over his new role after the ceremony at York Minster.

His appointment comes after the previous nominee Philip North, Bishop of Burnley, stepped aside after protests about his view on the ordination of women priests.
