Explosions heard and plumes of smoke seen as fire breaks out in Batley

Explosions have been heard after a fire broke out at a bed factory in Batley.

Firefighters from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to a blaze involving two HGV trailer outside a bed factory in Soothill Lane at around 8.20pm.

Two pumps from Dewsbury, as well as appliances from Morley and Cleckheaton fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

Officers say nobody has been injured and the fire is under control. It is thought the loud noises heard may have been tyres exploding.

Soothill Lane has been partially closed at its junction with Lady Anne Road.
