Emmerdale praised for raising awareness of dementia
The parents of a teacher who's become one of the youngest people to die from dementia say more needs to be done to raise awareness of the disease.
Gareth Wilmot, from Goldthorpe, near Barnsley, was just 40-years-old.
When he was diagnosed five years ago, his parents say they didn't believe it could affect someone so young.
Today they praised ITV's Emmerdale for raising awareness of dementia with a storyline about the devastating impact on individuals and families.
