Wetherby services off A1 motorway close after lorry catches fire on access road

A lorry fire has led to the closure of Wetherby services.

The vehicle caught fire on the access road leading to the service station from junction 46 of the A1 today at around 6am.

The lorry was carrying supermarket supplies and its trailer was totally burned out when firefighters arrived at the scene.

Wetherby services are expected to remain closed until around lunchtime as the access road is currently blocked.
