Biggest hydro-electric power station in Yorkshire opens

The biggest ever hydro electric power station on a Yorkshire river had been officially opened today.

More than £5m has been spent on the plant on the River Calder at Kirkthorpe Weir near Wakefield.

It will provide enough electricity to power 800 homes for the next 100 years.
