Investigation into Barnsley scrapyard fire

An investigation will take place into a large fire at a scrapyard in Royston near Barnsley.

Firefighters from Cudworth, Barnsley, Dearne, Tankersley and Rotherham stations were called to the fire on Boulder Bridge Lane just after 10.30pm last night.

Crews spent a number of hours tackling the several tonnes of aluminum which were on fire.

One fire crew remained at the scene this morning to damp down.
