Body found in search for missing York student

Officers searching for missing 20-year-old York student Ethan Peters have today found a man’s body in the River Foss.

Mr Peters was last seen at 11.55pm on Coney Street in York last Sunday.

Underwater search teams and local officers conducting extensive searches found a man’s body in the River Foss behind the Castle Museum in York at 1.30pm today.

Police say formal identification is yet to take place, but the student's family have been informed and are currently receiving support from specially-trained officers.
