Sink hole set to shut York street for several days

A collapsed sewer under one of York's busiest streets has led to a sink hole which is set to cause disruption for several days.

Yorkshire Water said it is working 'around the clock' to repair the damage so that Gillygate can reopen as soon as possible. The company apologised for the inconvenience caused.

York's biggest bus operator First said it was putting in place a free shuttle service to ensure customers could continue to access York Hospital.
