Suffering dog found in Scunthorpe woods
The RSPCA is appealing for information after a Jack Russell Terrier type dog was found suffering in woods in Scunthorpe.
It was emaciated, had severe dental problems, overgrown claws and discharge coming from her eyes.
The RSPCA was called and it was taken to a vets where it was put to sleep on humane grounds.
RSPCA inspector Dan Bradshaw said: “He was found collapsed on the grass in woods off East Common Road, near to the primary school, on Wednesday 11 May.
“He wasn’t wearing a collar and ID tag and wasn’t microchipped, as is required by law, so at the moment there is no way of tracing her owner.
“Given the condition he was found in, it seems unlikely he got there herself.
“If you saw anything, or recognise him and know who his owner is, please get in touch.”
He is described as an older male - aged 10 years plus. He was mainly white with black and brown patches on her head and tail. The only distinguishing feature was that he had two identical black spots on each side of his head, just below the ears.
Anyone with any specific information should call the RSPCA inspector appeal line on 0200 123 8018.
