Three carers plead guilty in Keldgate Manor Care Home case

Three carers have pleaded guilty to neglecting an elderly care home resident at Keldgate Manor Care Home in Beverley.

Tracy Priestley, Sophie Hinchsliff and Danielle Snowden who were caught on camera mocking the vulnerable old lady, were sentenced at Hull Crown Court today.

Tracy Priestley was given a 12 month community order, and ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work. A curfew from 9pm to 7am was also imposed.

Sophie Hinchsliff was given a 12 month community order, and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. She was also told to pay £1500 in compensation.

Danielle Snowden was given a 12 month community order, and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. She was also told to pay £1500 in compensation.

“This was a deeply distressing case, in which a vulnerable, elderly lady was cruelly mocked and made fun of by those charged with her care. This lady and her family had every right to expect that she would be treated with care, dignity and respect. Her three carers profoundly abused this trust. I hope the fact that these three defendants have now pleaded guilty is of some comfort to her family. This prosecution emphasises that this type of cruel behaviour, especially when perpetrated against one so vulnerable will not be tolerated in our society.”
