20 firefighters tackle HGV tanker blaze near York

Around 20 firefighters are tackling a blaze involving two large HGV tankers near York.

The fire broke out in a yard on Carr Lane, at Sutton-on-the-Forest at 7am.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service says the tankers are empty. Fire crews from York, Acomb, Easingwold and Huntington are using jets and hose reels in an effort to control the fire.
