Man's body found in Huddersfield canal

A man's body has been found in a canal in the Hillhouse area of Huddersfield.

The body is the second to be discovered this week, with police still attempting to identify the body of man found in nearby Ravensthorpe on March 14th.

Police were alerted by a passerby to the discovery of the second body today in the Huddersfield Broad Canal, at Vine Street. Enquiries continue to identify the man and to establish how he died.

Meanwhile, police have issued photographs of clothing in a hope of identifying the body of a man found near Low Mill Lane in Ravensthorpe.

Early indications are that the body is that of a white male, aged between 30 and 50, between 5"9" tall and 6"1" tall and of slim build. He was wearing a No Fear short sleeved t-shirt and chino style shorts with a palm tree design.
