Personal fly past for Bomber Command veteran

A Bomber Command veteran who sparked a nationwide search for his lost medals has had a special personal flypast by the UK's only remaining airworthy Lancaster Bomber.

Donald Nicholson returned to Canwick Hill in Lincoln after being reunited with his medals last week. They went missing ahead of the opening of the city's new Bomber Command memorial.

The Lancaster itself missed the original opening ceremony at the start of the month because of technical reasons. But better late than never, it finally flew past the memorial and it's very special guest. Michael Billington was there.
