Proud day for Lincoln as Tank Memorial unveiled
It has been a proud and busy day for Lincoln with the erection of the Bomber Command Memorial Spire and also the unveiling of the Lincoln Tank Memorial.
Around 500 people turned up to celebrate the completion of the £90,000 structure of a partly constructed tank, including figures of its designers, developers and manufacturers.
Standing on the Tritton Road roundabout, it is close to the site of William Foster and Co's factory where the first tank came off the production line in 1916. Here's Joe Cooke MBE, chairman of the Lincoln Tank Memorial Group.
