100 tonnes of scrap cars on fire in Sheffield

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a scrap metal recycling plant next to the M1 in Sheffield.

Around a 100 tonnes of compressed vehicles have caught fire sending smoke across the motorway carriageways near Meadowhall.

Firefighters are trying to separate the waste materials to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
