Five women have been given antisocial behaviour orders (Asbos) after residents complained of problems associated with sex work in Hessle Road and the surrounding streets.

Sisters Emily Carroll, 34, Katie Carroll, 29, and Victoria Carroll, 30 have all been issued with orders, as have Katie Van-Eijk, 31, and Michaela Moss, 32.

All except Moss have been banned from a large area surrounding Hessle Road between 7pm and 8am.

Humberside Police said:

Each street worker is offered support and referrals are made to various agencies including charities such as Lighthouse who try and engage with the street workers – if the street workers refuse to engage and continue to work on the street then we consider other options including ASBOS and the 222 injunctions to give the local residents and businesses some respite

Since obtaining the ASBOS and issuing the 222 injunctions, we have seen a massive decrease in street working activity in the Hessle Road area.
