Plans for volunteers to run Lincolnshire libraries approved

Future plans for library services across Lincolnshire, which include most being operated by volunteers, have been approved by the County Council this lunchtime.

Campaigners set up a pop up library outside the council's headquarters this morning in protest at the plans, which include 15 core libraries in key locations being run either by the council or a private company.

Up to 40 community hubs are also expected to be operated by volunteers. The move follows a judicial review last year when the council's earlier plans were quashed.
