Police in Hull are investigating reports that a teenage boy was followed and threatened near West Park.

A 14-year-old boy was walking along Walton Street towards Anlaby Road when an unknown man cycled past him, before stopping and trying to engage him in conversation.

The man then allegedly got of his bicycle and asked the boy to follow him into West Park, which the boy refused. The man is then reported to have repeatedly threatened the boy.

A second man came from the park via the pedestrian/cycle metal gate and asked what was going on, before escorting the boy away from the other man onto Anlaby Road.

The suspect allegedly followed the boy and the man for a short time allegedly suggesting he was the boy’s brother, before cycling off through the park.

The boy was not hurt in anyway, but police are keen to identify the unknown suspect and trace the man who assisted the boy.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his late teens, and around 5ft 5ins tall with a slim build. He had messy light coloured hair with some facial stubble and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms with a line down the side, a plastic type outdoor jacket that zipped up, a grey hood or hat sticking out the back of his jacket. He was on a black or navy coloured mountain bike.

The man who helped the boy is considered a key witness and is urged to contact the police. He is described as a white man aged in his 30s or 40s with dark coloured straight hair with a medium build and spoke with a Welsh accent.
