Sheffield homes evacuated after car fire

Families were evacuated from their homes and part of a road sealed off in north Sheffield as firefighters dealt with a car blaze, which ruptured a gas main.

The fire severely damaged the car and part of a neighbouring building was also damaged on Dugdale Avenue in Parson Cross. Homes were evacuated while the gas supply was made safe. No one was injured in the incident.
