Hedben Bridge remembers shopkeeper Bob Leedham

Schoolchildren in Hedben Bridge have voted to name a new retirement development in the town after a local shopkeeper who died on holiday in Thailand.

Bob Leedham ran the 'Something Sweet' shop and was a well known character in the town, particularly the children who frequented his shop.

Developers of a new retirement complex approached teachers at Stubbings infants school to get pupils to vote on what it should be called.

The pupils, all aged between six and seven, voted to name it Leedham Court after the shopkeeper.
