Yorkshire tourism boss in "petit grand depart"

The man responsible for bringing the Tour de France to Yorkshire also got on his bike this weekend.

Gary Verity, from Welcome to Yorkshire, cycled the 120 mile route from Harewood, through the Yorkshire Dales to Harrogate. He was supported by colleagues and friends and some of the cast of Emmerdale.

It was all part the "petit grand depart" and involved hundreds of cyclists taking on part of the stage 1 route.
