Candidates will contest the Newark by-election on June 5. The seat is vacant after Patrick Mercer quit as MP for Newark for allegedly taking cash to ask questions in Parliament.

The seat was left vacant after the resignation of Patrick Mercer over a cash for questions scandal.
Nigel Farage said yesterday that he would not be contesting the seat, but did not rule out a move by UKIP for their first Parliamentary seat.
