Fast-food workers urged to join protest over pay
Activists from the Youth Fight for Jobs campaign are targeting fast food outlets across Yorkshire, urging workers to join a union and fight for improvements in pay, job security and working conditions.
The protests follow the launch of the Fast Food Rights campaign by the BFAWU trade union which Youth Fight for Jobs is supporting. They want an end to low pay and zero hour contracts, and say many of those in the fast-food industry are working under these kinds of pay conditions.
There are over 20 other protests in towns and cities across the UK, including Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield.
