Hull named in Sunday Times 'best cities' list
The Sunday Times says Hull is one of the best cities to live in Britain calling it one of the UK’s “urban hubs” where the cultural offering was ever-improving.
The newspaper said Hull was “full of hidden surprises.” It also highlighted affordable housing and increased investment.
The paper also mentioned that cultural attractions such as The Deep, Ferens Art Gallery and Hull Truck Theatre were pulling in visitors to the City of Culture 2017. Peter Aarosin, of the Bondholders marketing organisation, which promotes Hull, said it showed their work was achieving good results.
He said: “It wasn’t so long ago that Hull was, very unfairly, being mentioned as one of the worst cities in the country, so this is a huge turnaround.
“The Sunday Times has a very influential audience, including politicians, business leaders and financiers.
"They can influence or decide upon major investments into the city and wider region, so it’s very helpful that they will read such a positive review."
