Replica World War 1 trench system

Work has begun to recreate a First World War trench system in a Nottinghamshire forest. Clipstone Camp which is now the site of Sherwood Pines housed up to thirty thousand troops, and trained soldiers in the art of trench warfare.

Now the Forestry Commission says it wants to illustrate the history of Sherwood Pines and commemorate those who died in the Great War. Phil Brewster meets Hugh Mannall and Chris Bray from the Forestry Commission in his report.
