A man has been arrested in connection with the IRA murders of two teenage soldiers in Northern Ireland 36 years ago.
The 54-year-old suspect is being questioned about the gun attack in Belfast that killed Michael Harrison. 19, and Richard Turnbull, 18. who were both from Yorkhire.
The pair were both privates in the Light Infantry. Harrison was from the town of Dinnington in South Yorkshire while Private Turnbull hailed from North Yorkshire.
They were just two days into a four month tour of duty in Northern Ireland when they were killed in a hail of bullets as the army patrol they were travelling in turned into the path of the waiting ambush.
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
