A two year old girl was seriously injured when a pet Rottweiller attacked her in Rawmarsh, Rotherham
The family of the little girl injured in yesterday’s dog bite incident on Thorogate, Rotherham, have expressed their "horror and shock" at the events that took place.
In a statement released through South Yorkshire Police the family say they have been "devastated " by yesterday’s incident.
The girl, who has not been named, is recovering in Sheffield Children's Hospital. She suffered a split earlobe and a number of wounds that required stitches mainly on one leg.
Her family remain at the little girl’s bedside in hospital today as she is treated for the injuries she suffered. The family has agreed that the Rottweiler shall be destroyed.
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
