Scunthorpe's Tai Woffinden smashes collarbone at Speedway Grand Prix
Scunthorpe's Tai Woffinden will have to undergo surgery on Monday to repair a shattered collarbone. He broke it in the 14th heat of Saturday's British Speedway Grand Prix.
The 22-year-old had completed a lap of honour on his push bike to celebrate his cycle ride from Wolverhampton to Cardiff which he did in memory of his father to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
He was on track for the semis, but crashed awkwardly. He says he's hoping to recover in time to take part in the next Grand Prix at Gorzow in a fortnight.
