Far right demonstrators have staged a protest at a former Leeds pub earmarked for conversion to an islamic community centre. The English Defence League supporters gathered outside the old Lingfield pub in Alwoodley near Leeds to show their opposition to the plans.
UKIM, UK Islamic Mission, who bought the site, want to create a gym, IT suite, training facilities, library and a prayer room.
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
