Ex-employer of Turkey shooting victim speaks out

The former employer of Alex Bury, the son of Catherine Bury, who was killed during a shooting in Turkey has released a statement.

“Everyone at The Cleveland Tontine is extremely shocked and saddened to hear the dreadful news about Alex Bury and his family. Alex worked at the Cleveland Tontine up until last year as a waiter, over a period of five years. He is a delightful young man, a joy to work with and much loved by customers and colleagues alike. We send our heartfelt condolences to all the family and our hopes for a full and speedy recovery to Alex.”

Three generations of a North Yorkshire family have been shot while on holiday in Turkey - leaving one dead and two fighting for their lives.

The Bury family, from Northallerton, had been celebrating a birthday party at their villa when their gardener reportedly opened fire with a pump-action shotgun.

A man is due to appear in court after giving himself up following the shooting of three generations of a Northallerton family in Turkey. The 46-year-old gardener, known only as V.A. had reportedly argued with mother Catherine Bury, 56, on Friday.

She fled the gunman and locked herself in the bathroom but he shot through the door and shot her four times with a shotgun.Catherine's mother, 87-year-old Cecille and son, 24-year-old Alex, were also shot and are now fighting for their lives.

One dead after North Yorkshire family shot in Turkey

Three generations of a British family have been shot while on holiday in Turkey - leaving one dead and two fighting for their lives in hospital.

The Bury family, from Swainby near Northallerton, had been celebrating a birthday party at their luxury villa on Sunday when their gardener allegedly opened fire with a pump-action shotgun.

It happened in the fishing village of Dalyan set on the Dalyan Channel between an inland lake and the Mediterranean Sea. It is a very popular trip for British tourists from nearby Fethiye and Marmaris.
