York Minster attack

A 42-year-old man is due to appear at York Magistrates' Court today charged with assault following an incident at York Minster on Sunday. The man, who is of no fixed address, has also been charged with engaging in violent behaviour in a church.

The Church of England has issued a statement following an attack on stewards at York Minster.

It is being reported that stewards have been attacked during a high-profile church service at York minster. It is believed it happened when the Archbishop of York was giving a sermon at the service. One man has apparently been arrested. More to follow.
