Lincs Police to start using spit guards

Lincolnshire Police will start using spit and bite guards later this month to protect officers on the front line.

The guards will be used on those they arrest - who they fear may spit at officers. Between April and November last year officers were spat at 107 times.

Lincolnshire Police claim their use will decrease the amount of force needed when making some arrests.
