Police appeal for witnesses after body found on M62 near Brighouse

Police are appealing for witness after a body was found near a vehicle on the M62 near Brighouse yesterday afternoon.

Officers were called to the slip-road of the M62 at Junction 25 at 2pm, after reports that an articulated skip wagon was sat with its engine running.

Police discovered the body of a man in his forties on the embankment nearby. He was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s family have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the vehicle yesterday.

Drivers with dashcams who filmed the articulated skip wagon are asked to contact detectives.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers are working to determine the circumstances of what took place but there is not believed to be any third party involvement at this time".
