Parents of York student missing after terror attack confirmed dead

Angelika and Marcin Klis

The parents of a York college student have been confirmed as the latest victims of the Manchester terror attack.

Angelika and Marcin Klis had not been seen since the Ariana Grande concert where 22 people died in an explosion.

Their daughter Alex had written an appeal on Facebook to help find them, using a photograph of her parents which had been taken on the night.

"Anyone who is in any safe place or hospital in Manchester, if anyone comes across my parents please please let me know as they've been missing ever since the attack."

18-year-old Alex, whose extended family are on their way to the UK from Poland to support her and her younger sister, said she had agreed to meet her mother and father, a taxi driver in the city, in the MEN foyer next to the train station. She said the family was in shock after being told the news.

A spokesman for the Polish foreign ministry said "at least two people havedied and one person has been injured".

Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski confirmed the deaths during an interview on a Polish radio station.
