Dog ready to be rehomed after being dumped in field with note 'I don't need a dog'
A dog that made headlines around the world after she was abandoned in a field with a note saying "I don't need a dog' is now ready to find her forever home.
Tessa the 12-year-old Terrier Cross was found in a field on the site of a car boot sale in Worksop. It is understood Tessa’s owner had moved abroad and, unable to take Tessa with her, had left her to be cared for by a neighbour
However, the neighbour then found they could not look after Tessa and left her in the field with food, water and a note explaining the circumstances - and stating that they didn’t need a dog.
When Tessa was found by South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance she weighed 14.4kg, approximately double her ideal weight. She was taken to Leeds Dogs Trust checked over by a vet and put on a special diet.
Tessa is looking for an adult only home. If you think you could offer Tessa her ideal home, please call the centre on 0300 303 0292 or visit them at Woodlands Farm, York Road, Leeds, LS15 4NL.
