Investigations underway into two fires at Whitby restaurant
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say that separate investigations are underway into the cause of two fires at a famous restaurant in Whitby.
Crews were called to tackle a fire in the roof space at The Magpie Cafe, Pier Road , at 10:15pm on Sunday.
Eight fire engines and an aerial ladder platform dealt with the incident.
Following this incident crews were called again to the fish and chip shop for another fire.
This time time six fire engines attended including a high reach aerial ladder platform and three officers.
No one was injured as a result of the fires.
Fire investigation officers started separate investigations into the cause of the fires which will continue today.
At this time, the cause of both fires is still to be determined.
