Campaigners hold protest over Lincs detention centre

Campaigners have held a protest outside an immigration detention centre in Lincolnshire today.

It was organised by the South Yorkshire Migration and Asylum Action Group.

It is calling for Morton Hall to be shut down - following two deaths there in six weeks.

But the Home Office maintains that detention and removal are essential for an effective immigration system and says it takes the welfare of detainees 'extremely seriously'.
