M1 speed limit may be reduced to cut pollution levels

The speed limit on the Sheffield stretch of the M1 may be reduced by 10 miles an hour to try and cut pollution levels.
Drivers going at over 60 could be fined if Highways England plans to enforce the new limit between junction 32 and 35a, an 18 mile stretch between North Rotherham and Tinsley, come into force.
The route is due to become a 'smart' motorway in March which could see thousands more vehicles on the road.
