Police evacuate 15 Scunthorpe homes in ongoing incident

A total of 15 homes have been evacuated as part of the ongoing incident in Cottage Beck Road, Scunthorpe.

Five people have left their properties in Cottage Beck Road and The Close to allow the Explosives Ordinance Disposal team to assess an unidentified item found at a property in the street during the pre-planned arrest of a 35-year-old man in relation to allegations of domestic abuse.

For the safety of those living and working in the area, as a precautionary measure, a 100m radius cordon is in place.

Cottage Beck Road, Rowland Road, Redbourne Way, Cemetery Road, the nearby recreation ground and bowling green are closed off.
