Two officers dismissed from South Yorkshire Force

Two officers have been dismissed from the South Yorkshire Police Force after admitting breaching the standards of professional behaviour and committing gross misconduct.

Julian Broddle, a PC who was based at Rotherham Police Station and Oliver Paduch, a PC with the Special Constabulary, were both dismissed by the Chief Constable without notice after special case hearings.

In March 2016, Broddle, 52, tested positive for cocaine during a random drugs test. Also in March this year, a colleague of 21-year-old Paduch reported concerns about racially abusive social media comments from Paduch’s account.

The matter was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, who ruled the case could be investigated internally. A review of his social media account found several comments and posts of a racially abusive nature.
