Doncaster man guilty of Thomas Groome murder
A 39-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a man from Doncaster, even though the location of the body remains unknown.
Jason Thaxter appeared before Sheffield Crown Court today to receive his sentence, after he was found guilty of the murder of Thomas Groome and conspiracy to prevent a burial last week.
He was jailed for life, to serve a minimum of 30 years behind bars.
Thaxter’s mother, June Buttle, of Doncaster Town Centre, was sentenced in March last year to 16-years in prison after she pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Mr Groome, conspiracy to prevent a burial and fraud against the Thomas Groome estate.
