Bradford Park Avenue owner quashes Bulls takeover rumours

Bradford Park Avenue owner has quashed rumours that he wants to buy the Bradford Bulls but sees potential for teamwork with the club.

Texas-based businessman Gareth Roberts, who is in the oil and gas business and lives in Dallas, grew up in Holme Wood in the city and was a life-long supporter of the football club.

He stepped in to buy the club last year and has since donated his majority shareholding to help convert it to a community benefits society owned by the fans.

He is still actively involved with the club’s development and is working on plans for a long-term lease from the council to redesign the Horsfall stadium site. He returned to the US this week after a series of meetings to progress those ambitions.
