Three found guilty of 'cold-blooded' killing

Three Sheffield men have been convicted of the cold-blooded killing of a 23-year-old father of two, following a lengthy and complex police investigation.

Grant Bodell was shot at leat three times in the Manor area of Sheffield in June 2014. Marvis Smith and Brendan McFarlane, pictured below, were both found guilty of his murder at Sheffield Crown Court.

Stevin Pierre, pictured below, was found guilty of manslaughter. A fourth defendant, Torrington Smith, was found not guilty of murder.

Detective Superintendent David Barraclough, who led the murder investigation, said Mr Bodell’s death was a "very tragic case" that resulted from an incident that took place a few hours earlier that evening when a firearm was discharged outside a club.

The men are due to be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court in due course.
