Miners join mourners at funeral of MP Harry Harpham

Dozens of miners have joined other mourners at the funeral and service of celebration for former pitman and Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough MP Harry Harpham.

Others there included Lab Leader Jeremy Corbyn and deputy Tom Watson, Harpham's predecessor Lord David Blunkett and Bolsover MP Dennis Skinner.

The celebration of Mr Harpham's life at Sheffield Cathedral was described as non religious.

Music played included John Lennon's Working Class Hero, and The Red Flag.

Former miners from Clipstone Colliery in north Nottinghamshire stood with banners outside chanting miners united will never be defeated.
