Fighting a tax rise through song

Wakefield Cathedral has found an innovative way to campaign against a proposed tax, which could threaten their renovation work.

The government has suggested imposing VAT on alterations to listed buildings. Wakefield Cathedral has just started a major renovation project, which included selling all the pews.

The proposed tax could mean that all work has to stop, so Pamela Greener, the wife of the Dean of Wakefield has composed and performed this song - and sent it to the Chancellor, George Osborne.
