Firefighters tackle major barn blaze in Maryport

Cumbria fire service have been tackling a major barn fire in Maryport throughout the night.

Firefighters were called to Crosshow Road shortly after 6pm.

The fire had spread to two large barns and an adjoining joiner’s workshop.

Because of the scale of the fire, six more fire engines were called to assist.

It is now believed to be under control and there are no reported injuries.
