Fatal Motorbike crash near Creetown
A Motor Cyclist has died in a crash on the A75 Gretna - Stranraer road in Dumfries and Galloway.
The accident happened just before noon on the Carsluith bypass near Creetown, five miles east of Newton Stewart.
The driver of the Land Rover and his passenger escaped without serious injury.
FIrefighters from Gatehouse of Fleet and Newton Stewart along with ambulances rushed to the scene and the firefighters put out the blaze.
The ambulance personnel treated the occupants of the Land Rover for slight injuries but they did not require hospital treatment.
The A75 was closed in both directions and will remain closed until tonight as an accident investigation goes on.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We received the call about 11.40pm and the motor cyclist has died from the results of the accident. The other two people in the Land Rover were not badly hurt.
